Dropped Rose
It’s just a rose,
some may say.
But what if you were that rose,
that had been dropped on that day?

We’ve all been on the floor
at least once in our life.
Maybe it was just a bad day-
a bad day full of strife.

Maybe some one put you down;
Telling lies that even you listened to.
Normally you don’t believe,
but today it just got to you.

Here’s a story-
Remember, she’s just a rose.
Just a story
And it starts with a hose.

The little girl was late for school.
She held her two roses,
They were for her teacher
And the teacher would have had those two roses if not for the hoses.

The little girl was hopping on her steps,
One foot hit the step just right.
She slipped on the hose
And started to cry with all her might.

Her daddy told her to get up.
“Stop whining,” he said.
The little girl got up with a sob,
and said, “But daddy, my rose looks like its dead.”

“It’s fine,” he said gruffly, and so
the little girl trotted after her father, when she realized that she only had one rose.
“Daddy,” she pulled on his coat.
“My other rose is at home by the hose!”

“Don’t worry about it.”
“But daddy, my rose-“
He gave her a look.
She whispered, “its at home by the hose.”

When she got to school,
Every little boy and girl was giving two roses.
A girl named Shirley asked the little girl where her other rose was.
“It’s at home by our hoses!”

That pore rose stayed there until noon when a strong wind started blowing and blew it away.
The rose froze and the little girl cried. Over a rose.

You may think that this is a silly story, but how many times have you been like that? Where the last piece just blew and you thought you’d go right a long with it? Remember we are all just roses, being dropped all the time by the people around. Don’t take heed of them, just keep going; press forward, and don’t let those people know you’re losing your grip. Hold on, stand strong, and know that I am always here. Even if I’m being the rose that is being stomped on and forgotten, I’ll try to put you back in the vase.

I will never forget you. And when I say never, I mean never.
