My Faith in Christ

I chose to come to this earth
To endure to the end.
As I trip, fall, and stumble
My heart goes to Christ to mend.
I came with a pure and untainted soul
Prepared to stand for my belief.
It soon became clear
That I would never have total relief.

As though a maze in my coloring book,
I need to work my way through.
Close my eyes and put my faith in God
Because only he knows what I can go through.

Faith in Christ established as a little child,
A simple, yet deep meaning.
As though a flower that grows in the wild,
A seed that grows from tender care.

Fighting to have my choice of toy,
A voice softens my hold.
Giving the toy to my sister
My faith that He knows what’s best starts to mold.

The soft carpet under my knees
As precious words my lips form.
A prayer to God requires faith-
A feeling ever so warm.

Faith in Christ established as a child,
A simple yet deep truth.
As though a flower growing in the wild.
A seed that grows from tender care.

How to pick His voice from the turmoil,
They say so many different things.
Buy this shirt, date this guy;
They speak as though powerful kings.

However my power comes form on high.
A King and a Prince whom I love.
I will stand as a witness at all times,
It is the least I can do for Them above.

Faith in Christ established as a Young Woman,
A simple yet deep truth.
Fighting to distinguish myself,
God makes a path through my youth.

I fulfilled a major goal in my life,
I chose to go to the temple,
I chose to be sealed for eternity.
I am now a forever wife.

All clothed in white on that day,
A miracle took place.
My family of the past, present, and future watched.
The sealing of eternity performed, ending that chase.

Faith in Christ established as a wife,
A simple yet deep truth.
Doors of knowledge open up,
The temple becomes my companion.

After wife comes mother.
A sacred opportunity given from God.
To raise a soul from heaven;
To hear the first word of, “Dod.”

A prayer starts the day off right,
A prayer at night ends the day in peace.
Being a mother may be trying,
But I would never choose for it to cease.

Faith in Christ established as a mother,
A simple, yet deep truth.
Hard days pile up,
But God will see you through.

Children grow and go off to college.
Soon they too go through marriage.
In no time at all
I’ll have grandchildren drawing on the wall.

A Grandmother is the sweetest state of age.
With children and their children
The blessings, and surprises, go on and on.
To see their faces light up when they hear about God.

Faith in Christ established as a Grandma,
A simple, yet deep truth.
Some days the treat pile may be low,
But the love of God most certainly shows.

Pain and suffering haunts my mind-
Satan in disguise.
He wants to break me,
But I see the world through Jesus’ eyes.

We walk practically blind
Not seeing what tomorrow will bring.
That’s why faith in Christ is essential,
His praises I will sing.

Faith in Christ,
A simple, yet deep truth.
As though a flower growing in the wild,
A seed that grows from tender care.
First introduced to me as a little child.
A child of God with steadfast faith in Christ.

Family Reunions

Family is loud and painful.
they pull and hit you.
Aunts give too many smothering kisses,
and uncles wheeze in your ear.
Cousin’s are screeching at the top of their lungs,
chasing you with a toy battle ax.
Your grandpa is screaming,” What?” because he can’t hear anything.
“Catch!” calls you’re brother after it’s too late.
“Shut up!” calls your sister as she yammers on her cell phone.
A baby starts wailing in the other room.

By the time you get to the sanctuary of your room
you are covered from head to toe in bruises,
lipstick marks the shape of lips all over your face,
and your ears are ready to burst from all the noise.
A door slams downstairs and the sound of many people walking wafts upstairs.
You slump down to see the cause of the commotion.
Tons of people are every where you look.
You look at your mother questionably.
“It’s time for your father’s family reunion!”
You groan and run back upstairs into you room,
locking the door behind you.
Immediately many fists beat on your door
pleading with you to come out.
However, you don’t hear them.
You’re too busy trying to escape out your window
with the few sheets you have.

Happiness is a journey, not a destination. The doing is often more important than the outcome. -Arthur Ashe (thanx julie!)

Don't dwell on what went wrong. Instead, focus on what to do next. Spend your energies on moving forward toward finding the answer.

All the happiness you ever find lies in you. The only way to get it out is to find a true friend.

One day someone will walk into your life, and make you realize why it never worked with anyone else
